If you look at the photos, it's plain see why I wanted this rug. My Elsie (the West Highland White Terrier), through a series of unfortunate events, was never properly house-trained as a puppy. She no longer goes inside ALL the time, but there is the occasional incident.
As fortune would have it, it had just happened before I was writing this review. You can clearly see how the urine is not being absorbed. It's not even going into the rug, much less the carpet below; even if it did, the rug has a protective backing to stop it. When I used the paper towel to clean it, all I did was let the paper towel suck it up. Underneath, there was not even a trace of residue. It was as if it repelled the urine. Amazing.
--so it's obviously effective, but the best part is that it is beautiful and feels splendidly soft. Instead of the struggle to keep my living room from looking like an unsupervised kennel, I will be proud to welcome even the most critical of guests. To say that I love it is an understatement.
